The Teresina Sisters recently arrived in Bohol to spread their mission. Founded by Mons. Francesco Joseph Cagliero in Tanzania in 1935, the Teresina Sisters (officially known as Missionary Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus), sought the help of then Bishop Abet Uy of the Diocese of Tagbilaran to set up their mission house in Calape, Bohol.
The Teresina Sisters run schools, hospitals, and orphanages mainly in Tanzania and Malawi. Inspired by the charism of St. Therese of Lisieux, they work and journey with the marginalised and abandoned people and comfort the suffering and the afflicted. They also defend the human rights of the poor and the oppressed through advocacy and promotion of justice and peace.
The Gratitude Fund, at the request of Bishop Uy, provided support to the Teresina Sisters establish their work in Bohol Province.
