Celebrating Identity and Culture

The Gratitude Fund supports Mayâ Learning Space in Bantayan Island, a space where the community members share the responsibility of educating the child, preserving the Bantayanon language and island practices, and taking care of the natural world.

Mayâ Learning Space is located in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu, and it is a community learning space where Bantayanons celebrate their identity and creativity as islahanon.

Mayâ Learning Space hopes to bring together the creativity of individuals, from children to adults, and facilitate self-discovery, imagination, independence, and empathy. This is then highlighted through the three areas in the learning space: the community peace library, the workshop area, and the natural playground.

The Gratitude Fund supports the community peace library, which provides various activities for children, including read-aloud sessions, book reading or browsing, and developmental play.
